Tasks

The tasks of the Centre of Biomass Technology have the following priority:

• Supporting new initiatives
• Knowledge transfer
• Collection of information

The tasks include consultancy within the following areas:

• Choice of fuel
• Straw and wood chip technology
• Combustion technology and environment
• Flue gas cleaning and flue gas condensation
• Distribution of heat
• Systems evaluation
• Organization and economy
• Delivery of fuel and contract conditions
• Subsidy schemes

The Centre promotes the utilization of straw and wood chips by:

• Investigating and emphasizing the possibilities of utilization of straw, wood chips, and fuel pellets
• Supporting new initiatives, i.e. and assisting initiative groups, heating plants etc. by establishing new or extending existing heating plants
• Supporting the further development of boiler equipment and components
• Advising the authorities on the utilization of straw and wood chips in relation to energy and environmental planning.
